Wind Energy

Introduction

Wind energy has been going through a continuous progression all around the world. There is also observed a prominent increase in the individual performance of the wind turbines over last ten years. It is expected that if wind energy would be produced more efficiently then it would seemed to be possible to fulfill the requirement of electrical power worldwide with the help of renewable energy. The importance of wind energy has also rapidly increased and its high demand is the result of the reliability and quality of the installations.

Problems in Manufacturing and Assembly in Wind Energy

There are a number of problems in the manufacturing and development of electrical power through wind turbines. The technical problems that are observed to be occurring again and again in wind turbine must be evaluated carefully. After doing the complete set up of wind turbines, it is important to find out effective measures for solving those concerns. For a manufacturer of wind turbine, it is considered to be very important to strive hard in order to build the confidence of quality in the purchaser. The major factors that are focused by the customers include high- quality performance and the cost of wind turbines (County Final Report, 2007). .

One of the most highlighted problems present in the manufacturing and development of wind turbine is to find out effective ways to prevent noise pollution. Wind turbine is considered as one of the important reason of producing noise pollution. It is observed that people are mostly worried about the noise while anything new is going to be established in their area either it's a road, a club or a shopping centre. Thus wind turbines also produce mush disturbance for the neighbor farms. Noise in wind turbine is generated through various aerodynamic and mechanical sources. With the advancement in the technology, many techniques have been implemented in order to reduce the noise. But still the noise e from wind turbine is a concern for the people living in the surrounding. In wind energy engineering the concerns related to wind turbine noise has now turned out to be major environmental impact area. It is easy to measure the level of noise but the public's insight of the noise impact of wind turbines is in part a subjective purpose (Kim, et.al. 2012).

Aerodynamic Noise

Aerodynamic noise is generated with the flow and pressure of the air around the blades. Rotor speed generally increases the aerodynamic noise. This is generally considered as one of the biggest source of the noise generated by wind turbine. This noise is further classified into three different categories:

1) Low Frequency Noise: It depends on the sound range with the minimum frequency. This is produced when localized flow deficiencies are encountered by the rotating blades surrounding a tower, change ...
