Primark is a clothing retailer which has almost 200 stores operating worldwide in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Belgium. Employee's turnover mean leaving and joining the employees in an organization in a particular period is called employee's turnover. Turnover has a significant impact on an organization. In an effort to decrease turnover rates, employers continually try to determine the reasons that employees leave their organizations. The main theme of this study is to analyze the turnover rate within Primark for employees within the first year of service. There is a need for research in the field of retailing to determine the relationship between these variables and turnover intentions (employee's intentions to withdraw from an organization and how to prevent turnover intentions, which ultimately prevents turnover. The intention to quit a job is the immediate precursor of turnover. This research focuses on the Primark's turnover rate; the main focus of the research is on the higher turnover rate of the Primark within the first year of the service and the affect on the business. This is likely to be the case for Primark. The likely benefits which can be expected by the Primark customer are the different trends which could be followed at Primark. Primark can hire different employees and provide them the new benefits which can reduce the employee turnover rate. This study highlights the reasons behind the high turnover rate high within Primark for employees within the first year of service. This new information contributes to the existing literature on these variables by providing a theoretical foundation for future research on turnover intentions and its immediate precursors in the retail industry, as well as other industries.
