Syria is an Arab Country strategically located in the Middle East. The current President of Syria is Basher Al Assad and has been the head of state since 2000. Earlier, he took over the presidency, his father Hafeez Al Assad was the President of Syria from 1970-2000. The famous Arab Spring started in the February 2011, and the first country that got affected from this development was Tunisia. The 22 year old regime in Tunisia ended after the massive protests, held by the people in the country. Similarly, the same situation took place in Egypt, when the 30 year old regime of Hosni Mubarak ended after the massive protests took place in the Tahrir Square. The next country was Syria, and it initially started with the uprising that took place in March 2011. However, the protests and uprising took an ugly shape when the insurgency got started by the Rebels supported by Arab countries and also the Western nations. Lots of casualties have taken place in the country in the last two years, and there is a Civil war sort of situation at the country. On August 21, 2013, the chemical attack took place and alleged use of Sarin gas got reported. The Syrian Government faced the blame to use this chemical weapon against the rebels that killed more than 1000 people. This was a violation of the International Law, and the US along with some other Western nations vowed to attack Syria.
