Whether the British Government was misguided to Drop its Proposal for a Minimum Unit Price for Alcohol
Introduction
In the current scenario in the United Kingdom the demand of the alcohol is still raised as there is a rise of taxes upon the consumption of alcohol. The discount and special offers attracted the consumers to increase the demand of alcohol in the United Kingdom. However the supply of alcohol is cheap as the heavy users of alcohol increases the supply in the United Kingdom. The cheap alcohol had been consumed by the youngsters as they got less amount to spent (Health first, 2013, pp.17). If the government would stop the supply of alcohol the result would be thousands of lives would be saved, the crimes would be cut off and the absenteeism rate would be less in the corporate world. However in Canada and other states the decline in alcohol prices would result in the decline in the consumption of alcohol among the consumers. The price reduction in alcohol reduces the consumption among the citizens of the state as they found out that minimum price is the promising strategy as to reduce the consumption of alcohol among the citizens (Stockwell, 2012, pp.102). In this regard the British government was not misguided to drop the proposal for a minimum unit price for alcohol in United Kingdom.

Economic Theories Regarding Demand, Supply and Elasticity
