Abstract

The study incorporates the literature review on the topic of deadly bullying in schools. The paper incorporates the idea that how the bullying leads the students of the school towards the suicide. The paper also explains the actual concept of school bullying. The study describes that, school bullying is a kind of bullying which may significantly affect the well being of the students. The study also discusses the types of school bullying. In addition to this, paper also addresses the reasons and some facts behind the school bullying. Current study also explains the steps of government and nongovernmental organizations, so that the deadly school bullying can be reduced. Furthermore, the study also incorporates the rate of deaths in schools students due to suicide. The study also examines the strategies of school administration and communities, in order to control the rate of suicide which is caused due school bullying.

Introduction

Bullying is the coercion or use of force to intimidate or abuse others. According to researches and studies, the behaviour of bullying can be habitual and may incorporate an imbalance of physical or social power. The bullying may include threats, verbal harassment, coercion or physical assault. Several factors are involved behind bullying. These factors may include any disability, behaviour, appearance, gender, religion, race or class. It is often that, when the bullying is done by the group, it is referred as mobbing. School bullying is a kind of bullying which with the students in their schools or educational institutes. In school or in any educational environment, bullying is as old as any issue that may significantly affect the reputation of the educational institute. Instead of this situation, the educational institutions are giving least amount of attention to this issue. This may result in the severe consequences and may lead the students to worst situations e.g. depression or sometimes towards suicide.

Abstract

The current study inspects that whether the students of high school experiencing bullying behaviours at threat of later suicidality and mental depression. A total of two hundred and thirty six students who responded positively on frequent occurring of the bullying behaviour without suicidality or depression during the screening of suicide. The study demonstrates that, teenagers who reported the bullying activities did not develop the issues of suicidality or depression. Instead of this, those students had to face various psychiatric issues. Furthermore, the students who faced the verbal and physical bullying at their educational institutions had developed intense mental depression. Afterwards, this mental depression led them towards suicide attempt. Hence, it is necessary for the educational institutions to evaluate the bullying behaviours in the protocols of screening.
