What was so unique about Jesus' treatment of women, children, poor, and disenfranchised in the Jewish society?
Introduction
The purpose of Jesus on this earth was to help man find the Lord. He tried to disseminate the purpose of the Lord to His people. However, not everybody understood his messages. People who did understand him, understood him only partly. The account on the life of Jesus has been covered in many books. One of the first ones is the Gospel. The way Jesus interacted with those around him has important message for his followers. They should try and replicate the message of Jesus in their own lives as well (Piper, 2007).
Jesus' life was all about love. He treated women, children, poor and the disenfranchised in the Jewish society with love. The underlying message of Jesus is that he asked people to treat others, the way they want to be treated themselves. Since, Jesus loved people, he expected them to love each other as well. This is reflected in the fact that Jesus would pray for his enemies that God may give them guidance and take them to the right path.
Thesis Statement
The treatment that Jesus bestowed upon women, children, poor and disenfranchised reflects that regardless of gender, age, and disabilities, Jesus provided His word to all.
Jesus' Treatment of Special Groups
According to Mark 12:31, the second most important duty of a believer is that he may love his neighbors. The first commandment expects the believers to love their Lord ad make Him a part of themselves. This is so because when a man loves his Lord, he will do everything to please Him (Turner, 2010). This will make people better human beings. Jesus' treatment of special groups reflects that he would never judge anyone. In addition, he would remain all the more polite and accommodating towards them. The treatment of Jesus towards the special group serves as a symbol whereby the same should applied for treatment of others as well.
