In this week's media presentation it was commented by Dr. Mauk that although rich data is obtained by the qualitative research but it is less evidence based (Laureae Education, Inc., 2012). In the qualitative studies the investigation is done based on the viewpoints and the realities of the participants. Similarly, in the qualitative research only that aspect is focused this is poorly understood (Polit & Beck, 2012). Most often for the formulation of the hypothesis qualitative findings serve as the basis and are tested by the quantitative researchers for developing effective nursing interventions.
