Prevention is always better than cure. With this in mind, Medicaid has devised a plan to influence organizations to increase the number of patients being offered preventive care. It has been observed that as the spending on preventive care increases, the amount being spent on treatment decreases by a greater amount. The reason is that the cost of preventing a disease is significantly lower than its cure.
