Introduction

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a disease characterized by elevated blood pressure levels. It is a metabolic syndrome usually accompanied by other changes, such as obesity. About 20% of the population is carriers of hypertension, and 50% of the obese population has the disease (World Health Organization, 2013).
