Water Quality

Abstract

In today's world, water recycling plants have been installed to recycle water. Two-third of our planet is water, only 2.5% of which is fresh water and 1% is accessible for drinking. That accounts for a very little amount available for drinking. Considering the fresh water availability, recycling plants have been constructed to improve re-use of water. Water Quality has been an issue for Salinas Valley, California. The Valley is an agricultural land. For that matter, water has been contaminated with nitrate components. The valley depends upon ground water as its major water source. It is because the land uses fertilizers for healthy crops production, and fertilizers are rich in nitrate substances. High nitrate level has a link to cancer leading factors. Higher levels of nitrate cause Blue baby syndrome. There are many diseases caused by contamination of water. The maintenance of water quality is essential in developing an environment free of health hazards.
