Discussion
The Iraq war is considered to be an armed conflict which has occurred in two main phases. The first phase was the phase when the United States and United Kingdom have invaded the Ba'athist Iraq. After that invasion, a great war has started to occur in which the groups have started opposing the government of Iraq. The official end of the war was on 18th December 2011. With the official end of this war, the United States has called its military back. Though, the sectarian violence was still prevailing there and thousands of injuries have been caused as a result of this violence (28TH NATIONAL CONVENTION, 2005).
System and the Parts involved in Conflict
It is really a difficult aspect to understand the main causes of the Iraq war. There were multiple parties fighting in the Iraq war and they all were fighting for different reasons. These reasons of fights were very conflicting. Following are the main parties involved in the Iraq war conflict:
US Military
The largest force that has fought in the Iraq war is the U.S. military. The number of US army troops fighting in Iraq was 144,000. Though, these troops have been called back and the reductions have been made in the number of these troops with the end of the war. The main reason why the United States have sent its troops to Iraq for fighting was to fight against Al-Qaeda which was the biggest terrorist group (Zalman, 2007). The US military was fighting in Iraq for eliminating the group of Al-Qaida which was a very dangerous group and they were determined as the biggest danger for the country as well as the world.
Multinational Forces (besides the United States)
It is very difficult to reveal the accurate number of US troops present in United States. The different countries have sent their troops to support the troops of United States for fighting against the terrorist group of Al-Qaida. These groups have fought against Al-Qaeda and provided support to United States. The number of these troops kept on increasing and decreasing on demand. According to the data provided by GlobalSecurity.org, the number of non-U.S. militaries was just 21 in Iraq. The main countries which were supporting United States in a fight against Iraq were United Kingdom, Albania, South Korea, Armenia, Romania, Australia, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Denmark, Lithuania, EL Salvador, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Georgia. These all countries have provided their valuable support by sending their troops in Iraq for the war ...
