The following paper discusses about the hard and the soft technology in Wal-Mart.Wal- Mart Stores, Inc (WALMART) is currently ranked as not only American's largest but the world's largest company. The three segments of business, Wal- Mart stores, Wal- Mart International, Sam's Club, all these are operates in discounts variety retail industry. Wal-Mart attracts 175 million people to its stores each week, with the typical Wal-Mart shoppers' annual household income varying between $1,000 and $50,000. This reinforces the fact that customers demand reliable products at the lowest possible prices. Wal-Mart customers also appreciate the large range of products, friendly service, good hours, guaranteed satisfaction, convenience and free parking on offer. However, with 2-8% of customers having ceased shopping at Wal-Mart due to 'negative press', shows that CSR is important to customers. The following paper will also discuss about the technological barriers in domestic as well as global level. In the end the paper will also discuss briefly about the solution to resolve the technological barriers of Wal- Mart.

Before opening the doors of the business and obtaining the success there is need for establishing the soft and hard technologies. The soft technologies are those technologies that can be defined as an assessment, strategic, innovation, training, collaborative planning and management; anything that comes from the input of the person. On the other hand the hard technologies are those technologies which includes anything other than the person for instance the machines in the office, the machinery to name a few, and the computers.
