The world-wide ruling body for volleyball is the International Volleyball Federation or the “Federation International De Volley-ball" (FIVB). The Federation is established in Paris, France. Originated in 1947, fourteen nationwide federations connected simultaneously to coordinate worldwide affray and to standardize the directions of volleyball round the world. The FIVB directions are utilized, with some modifications, in all volleyball affrays except in high school in the United States.
