Introduction

This essay has focused on the visual literacy in the business world. This is the world od technology and different businesses ad institutes have moved their focus toward this concept. The use of visual literacy has increasing day by day. People are clearer about something when they watch a picture instead of reading words. Second part of this essay defines the use of visual in making or creating a communication piece. These visual aids also played an important role in building up something.

Visual literacy

This concept is becoming more and more popular these days, and it was first defined by John Debes. According to him, visual literacy is a set of competencies of vision that a human created by looking at something and at the same time merging the other experiences of senses (Avgerinou, n.d). Developing them is essential for a regular or common human learning. Once this is developed, a person becomes knowledgeable enough to differentiate between the interpretations of visible objects, symbols, actions, manmade or natural ones. With the help of this, this person is also competent enough to talk to others. Through this, this person is allowed to have fun in understand the bigger scenarios of visual communication(Avgerinou, n.d). Visual literacy is basically the process of evaluating, applying and developing the concepts of visualization. Here, the main thing is to focus on the picture given that has shown some meaning from information.

Brochures

Some brochures are consisting of words only or have pictures with it. There is some type of brochures that only consist of pictures with a line written on it, may be it is a logo of something that explains everything. For this, this person should be competent enough to understand that brochure. Brochures helps a lot and it also create a picture of what exactly a person needs to do.

Magazines are also helpful in case of visual literacy. A person have the magazine and looking at a picture to understand a concept. Even an illiterate person can easily identify that what is happening by looking at a picture. It became useful in gathering information from different perspectives.
