Introduction

For my visual analysis project I will we focusing on two different picture of a brand with similar commodities. In this paper I will be discussing the impact of advertisements on the perception of customers and how companies use different concepts in their advertisements to cater different market segments. I have selected Tylenol for my visual analysis; the products include Tylenol PM and Pain Relief. The image advisement of these products is also included as the entire paper is the visual representation of my implications and observation extracts. Following are the two images and their inferential representation.

Image 1:

Image 1 is an advertisement that is meant to target middle age group. The purpose of this advertisement is to attract people that have difficulty falling asleep. The picture portrays a middle age man on the floor sound asleep after taken Tylenol PM. The company wants people who are having troubles falling asleep to try the product.

The advertisement presents an image of a middle-aged man lying on the floor. The man in the image is dressed up formally; representing that he may be working man, having a stressful routine and have trouble sleeping. It should also be noted that the person is wearing his shoes and done not even had time to untie his shoe lases. From the scene presented, it seems like the person probably got home late at night from work and looking for something to eat in the kitchen, he may be a having severe headache from his regular insomnia. He took a pill of Tylenol PM and fell asleep on the floor.
