VIRTUALISATION

INTRODUCTION

Virtualization is the pioneer and leading theme these days in the world of computing as everybody wants a less hectic, cheap and compatible solution for the technology issue. With the passage of time, it is becoming one of human requirements to virtualise the world of computing and to remove maintenance cost, save time as well as to reduce the size of the network. Theme is to create imaginary version of desired hardware platform, storage device, and operating system as well as network resources.

DISCUSSION

To discuss the concept of virtualisation solutions, first we must understand the concept of virtualisation and its application providers in the form of VMware, Virtual Box, Virtual PC's and thin client network etc.

1)Talking about virtualisation In the world of computing, now it is the most desired technology because of its cost effectiveness and ea accessible because of that now pc is cable enough to do multitasking such as playing music, showing movies also virtual gaming rather than its basic function to perform complex arithmetic and logical operations. In other words, it is a conceptual (rather than real) version of something, i.e. operating system, storage devices, hardware devices or network resources etc. confined in the form of software available for virtual satisfactory of our need.

2) VM stands for virtual machine and VMWARE is the company that design virtual software that runs on x86 compatible computers. This organisation derived from EMC Corporation situated in California. This company is responsible for giving virtual solutions to their clients such as running multiple operating systems on the same PC simultaneously.

3) VIRTUAL BOX is a sort of program that can be installed on the computer and can let you install other OS on the same PC. Then you will able to use the newly installed host operating system on the already installed first operating system as it exist in real and this new host OS will share the RAM and your processor speed with your current or parent OS. It is also x86 virtualization software, courtesy software organisation “INNOTEK GmbH”, brought by Sun Microsystems, later on Oracle Corporation evolved it.

4) Microsoft Corporation introduced the concept of Virtual PC. Virtual PC is just like an extra PC in your already present one virtually developed for various reasons. The issues involving security concerns as you have downloaded new software and do not trust its authenticity, so you installed it on virtual pc to see its effects after the reaction you decided to keep it or discard it. Another issue can be of choice as your owner or boss wants you to use WINDOWS 7 and you like to work in XP environment, so you can have a virtual pc. Another issue can be of compatibility as you use XP and the desired program you want to run requires VISTA or WINDOWS 7 and so on.

5)In thin client networks, the administrating server got reserved for the maximum computing power and are attached by thin client's PCs, these client PC's have limited ...
