Everyone now a day is connected to the outside world through social media therefore various organizations are now stepping in this technological update and trying to build their brand image or company image through the effective use of social media. Social media has now become an integral part for many organizations. People previously have not thought that social media will become such influencing and will become a part and parcel of marketing strategies of various organizations. In order to align the needs and wants of social wants many companies have evolve that are giving social media consultancy and services to their customers (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). If we closely analyze the use of social media and the time spent by people on social media websites like facebook, twitter, pinterest etc, we will find that at an average a normal person spend more than 2.5 hours from his / her daily schedule on these social media website. Many companies have come up with creative ideas to use the social media to promote their products in much more feasible way with more precise target market. When furthermore the strategies and social media was studied it was found that facebook is one of those social media website which is not only used to promote products to the customers, but it also provide young entrepreneur to set up online business, get direct feedback from the customer for continuous improvement process. Various companies use these social media methods to get information about their potential customers and also to evaluate the performance of their employee. Such an organization is Accenture (Turban & Greening, 1997). Accenture has used facebook as the social media website to evaluate the performance of their employees. Analysis of Case Study
Accenture decided to get value out of their employee and therefore they started a social media campaign on facebook. In this campaign they designed a page on which their employees post their status, comments, feedback, and suggestions and above all they posted their goals of the week. These goals and activities were monitored by senior management as a method of employee performance evaluation. When the employees post their goal and current status about particular tasks it not only helps the organization to track the information about employees' performance but it also gave a positive effect to the people who visit official page of Accenture.
