Universal Design for Learning Lesson Plan

The aim of this lesson plan is to explain the syllabus, coursework, assignments, practices, additional requirements and examination for the course of mathematics of Grade 2 using Universal design for learning. The main purpose of the educational institution is to adapt numerous possible ways of learning and representation that helps every student in gaining information and required knowledge base. In addition, the instructor intends to implement and practice various styles of expressions in order to facilitate students to adapt and try different forms of demonstration techniques. The instructor is highly responsible for engaging the students in the corsework and maintains their level of interest in the subject by motivating them (CAST, 2008).

Common Core State Standards for Mathematics

The instructor should focus upon making learners understand the base ten concept, build relevant base for understanding addition and subtraction mathematical operations, introducing the concept of measuring length by using standard units, and comprehending the basic shapes and their attitudes.

Objectives

Mathematical Operations and Algebra

Solving and Understanding problems of addition and subtraction.

The students are instructed to use mathematical functions of addition and subtraction within the range of 20 numbers.

Help students learn by using different objects to strengthen the base for advance level of operations like division and multiplication.

Numbers and Operations with respect to Base Ten

Making students understand the concept of place value.

Using concept of place value to perform operations of addition and subtraction.

Measurements

Using Standard units to measure lengths.

Create a link between measurement to mathematical operations of add and subtract.

Using the concepts of Time and money while learning.

Representation and interpretation of data

Geometry

Understanding the reasons and logic behind shapes and their nature.

Mathematical practices

Create a sense of understanding the nature of problems and solve them accordingly.

Able to give reasoning for abstracts and quantitative data.

Able to formulate logical ...
