Introduction

The article of Kendall Powell discovers the changes in the structure building of children's brain. He pointed towards the study carried by NIMH “the US National Institute of Mental Health” in Maryland. It suggests that the grey matter thickens in early period of life, and later on it thins and goes on the back side of brain, and afterwards to the front side by early adulthood. Sometimes, it implies that an adolescent might physically emerge as an adult, thought the cognitive abilities of adult might not have nurtured to that level. He gave an example of casual test, in which both adolescent and adult performs, but yet the level inside his head shows that the adolescent brain pours more work into it. The brain of teen utilizes the entire host of frontal regions in its executing and planning, but adult ignores such peripheral vision. However, it is difficult for adolescent brain to act like an adult brain, which is quite difficult. Bea Luna says that the body of adolescent can look like an adult, but they are not utterly same in cognitive manner. In this paper, I will highlight the main purpose of this article and its key highlights that puts light on the subject matter.

Kendall greatly presents the work of Luna that identifies why a teenager could maturely behave on the first day of new week and something foolishly on the very next day. Neurobiologists examined the brain of teen and found key remodeling structure that allows taking risks and exploring new experiences. In adult human beings, numerous parts of the brain work in a combination to make decisions, and evaluate situations. An adolescent's brain on the other hand doesn't work like this. Neuroscientists consider prefrontal cortex to be the brain's remote control. This section of the brain helps the people in understanding each other and taking rational decisions.

Giedd (1999) argues that brain development shows numerous and vibrant changes in the brain structure during adolescence. It is a period of considerable cognitive maturation when adolscents acquire various masteries in many neuropsychological domains (Luna, Garver, Urban, Lazar, & Sweeney, 2004). Some of the major discoveries and researches in neurosciences over the past few years focus on adolescent brain development. Researchers are of the view that an adolescent's brain is far different from that of adults. Adolescent's brain goes through various stages of development and generally finish touching in brain development during the second part of life. Just like building blocks, the human brain starts to develop from the bottom up. If adolescent's brain is analyzed, then the lower building blocks are the first areas of real development. Neurologists refer this to as the 'survival brain'. This part controls the basic human bodily functions, temperature and blood pressures. The upper side of these building blocks consists of the cerebral cortex, which governs the cognition and thinking abilities of an adolescent.
