Introduction
The unions of the original 2003 look like nothing of the Labor Unions created in 1886 by Samuel Gompers. Once used to defend the rights of the people is now too powerful to trample and the same privileges that were once protected. Unions to reduce working hours and work has and improve working conditions through collective agreements, their strategy shifted to politics. Thomas Jefferson once said that "to force people to give contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he does not believe is sinful and tyrannical." (Gell 2000)
Unions fit that description as forcing union dues to all those with specific job and have been tyrants in government. Trade unions "have their heritage through a betrayed involved too much in party politics." To this drastic change in the policy, Labor Unions are hurting the economy and do not what they were intended to do in the first place. Labor union membership has recently, because it has become, back to political and has negative effects on the economy. (Gregson 1997)

Pros and Cons
The Food and Hospitality Industry has become one of biggest employers in our state. It now has attained much higher status in society and demands high standards of work from its employees. Employment opportunities are many, but eagerly sought by vast majority of people. For this cause as in any other established business, interviews are conducted. Through these interviews, interviewer looks for personal qualities and interpersonal skills in prospective employee to fulfill job requirements. One of most important things that an employer looks for are personal qualities. (Gudeman 1986)
Samuel Gompers created American Federation of Labor (AFL) in 1886. As the first elected president, "Gompers worked wage increases, shorter working hours and improving working conditions in industry after industry" (Steelman, online). Gompers was also very "cautious entangling AFL in politics of any kind '. (Herrmann 1999)
He made sure that the work held "his distance both from socialism and of partisan government, which is not limited to coordinating and winning concessions from companies in collective bargaining." Today, the labor unions from what Gompers accepted and have turned gigantic political machine. "Employees who once formed the backbone of the American labor action now find themselves paying higher and higher taxes to pay that unions are increasingly vigilant to ensure genuine interests of their members.". Pay with law'sthat forces union members from certain job fees, excess money in the unions win it again in the government. They are huge machines that law'sat political gain advantage bending their will. The government and unions really close relationship with each other. (Hochschild 1998)
