Introduction

This assignment is based on Intel's Information Management System (IMS). Information Management System is also called as Management Information System (MIS) is one of the most important and critical components that definitely contributes positively to the successful performance of an organization like Intel. The timely and quality information in an MIS allows Intel to better manage their resources, and be more effective in guiding strategic and operational actions in the market to fulfill its goals. The management information system at Intel involves a number of processes, tasks and actions involving the capture of data to be transformed into useful information for management and its various users.

There are different requirements at different levels of decision making at Intel. Main feature of information technology is to support decision-making in a new way of organizing human-computer interaction. The development of solutions, which is the main goal of this technology, is the result of an interactive process, which involves: decision support system as a computational unit and facility management; control elements that specify the input data and evaluate the results of calculations on a computer (Rajola, 2003).

Discussion and Analysis

The Management Information System (MIS) is one of five major subsystems based Information System on Computers. At Intel, its purpose is to meet the general information needs of all managers of the company. The reports and the outputs of the models can be prepared in tabular or graphical form. The MIS reflects the desire of managers to put the computer available to all who solve the problems of the company.
