In 1932, the US public health asked African American to participate in a controversial study, which proved to me a nightmare later. An epidemic of syphilis was predominant in the rural communities of the southern United States. Consequently, the authorities created a special program of treatment for this disease at the Hospital of Tuskegee, the only hospital for blacks that existed before.
