Introduction

Bullying is a way of torturing or dominating the other person through physical or verbal behavior. An ongoing harassment between two individuals, among them one of them is weaker in comparative to the bullies, having an imbalance of power. The humiliation caused by the bully, hurts the victim psychologically, embarrasses him/her or emotionally etc. (Wagner, 2007)

Discussion

Many researchers in the human development have analyzed that 30% of the 10th grade students are involved in the act of bullying at schools, colleges and universities. The act of violence has been more found in boys more than girls. The behavior of a bully includes torture to the other perpetrator's religion, sex, race by physically torturing or verbally harassing the other individual. Researchers found that in such situations students being victimized do not have good relationships among their fellow friends (Malick, n.d.).

Bullying can have long-term effects on a child's well-being and his self-confidence because bullying is very common in schools and it may affect their learning. Bullying can be a greater problem for children with disabilities, this involves children with communication problem, developmental, and social disabilities (Siebecker, 2010). The three main components of bullying behavior as observed by the researchers are:

The behavior is rather intended for harming the other person

The behavior is repeatedly keeps on torturing the other person

There is an imbalance of power among the perpetrator's

It has been proved that boys tend to be more involved in bullying as comparative to the girls. Boys usually tend to torture physically as the girls usually torture with relational bullying.
