Introduction

The times have gone when the criteria for reviewing organizational success used to be its progress in terms of the profit margin it has maintained. Nowadays, businesses are evaluated for success in numerous dimensions, such as corporate achievements, contribution to the community, and the satisfaction and enrichment of its employees. Firms that allocate resources for the promotion of diversity, maintenance of legal requirements and regulation, and encouraging employee growth enjoy not just the elimination of unneeded lawsuits but also get to see them nominated for the employer of choice awards.

This paper aims to address the importance of training in three areas: legal requirements, diversity, and employees' growth. It is provided as a requirement of the Week 2 Assignment of the HRM 326 course.

Legal requirements

According to (Noe, 2010) the different situations that can result in legal action against the organization include: Failure to meet training requirements, employee sustaining an injury during training or an injury outside of a training session. A Breach of confidentiality or defamation against an employee by an employer is also punishable by law and entitles the employee to punitive damages as a result of insult or injury to his or her character. It is also vital that organizations using or recopying copyrighted material within its training classes obtain permission as this is illegal and punishable by law.

Businesses have to maintain and abide by federal and state regulations as well as local laws as these may permit or limit the amount of hours required by laws to maintain its status as a Limited liability Company (LLC). Organizations established under an LLC must maintain a record and keep track of the hours spent on training as well as an accurate account of all employees attending these training sessions. Whether the business or organization is a sole proprietorship, corporation or a limited liability company a superior legal advisor or team can only strengthen its efforts for continued success and growth.

The relationship between a legal advisor and a team of lawyers is beneficial as he or she is well versed in the business goals and adjectives. He or she can provide influential perspectives on opportunities that may present themselves in the future and could harm or improve an organization's business or its reputation. A solid relationship between the employer and legal advisor also ensures that an employer is aware of the laws in other states and acts accordingly, as the laws vary from state to state.

Diversity training

An organization that develops a diverse culture amongst its employees and provides exceptional quality diversity training enjoys many rare benefits that step beyond the traditional boundaries of race, gender, cultural background. That organization seeks to work in accordance with general workplace ethics policies. The significance of effective diversity training can be gauged by the fact that it assists employers in the attraction and retention of employees coming from diverse backgrounds.
