Overview of Training Coordinator (TC) Career

In today's modern world, where everyone is in search of a suitable career path that can ensure a successful career development, training coordinator is a profession that entails numerous opportunities of learning and growth with exposure to various business domains and aspects of human behavior. According to Washington Headquarters (WHS, 2010), there is an important role played by the training coordinator in circulating training information and advising employees on various processes, which can be involved in obtaining training for them. They play a crucial role in an on-going and successful implementation of programs of external training (WHS, 2010).

It is a career path designed as the primary contact point with the CFFJAC (CA Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee) for routine coordination of attendance reporting and apprentices records. The reason to become a training coordinator is that a TC with the CFFJAC will act as a liaison (CFFJAC, 2012). An effective training coordinator is assumed to be specializing in the skills (as illustrated by figure 1).

One can pursue this career for numerous reasons; however, being I, the most considerable reason to join this profession is the comprehensive JD (Job Description) of TC, which offers tremendous learning and growth opportunities. Prime role of a training coordinator is to coordinate the development and delivery of initiatives taken for designing structured training programs. A TC is required to take an active part in developing and enhancing the performance of his staff members. He/she will act as information coordinator by interacting with internal and external members of the organization. He/she shall be responsible to provide internal consultation to organizational management (DBA, n.d.).
