Introduction
The unions are, in fact, instruments of incorporation of workers in the struggle to defend their interests and raising their living conditions, the time to help the formation of an organized and militant working class These struggles for the rights-from the salary increase, to the demands of reduced hours of work, to participation in profit and co-are the starting point for the working class to assume its role in the struggle for liberation and reach a certain degree of autonomy and organization, leading to a perception of direct value quantitatively, especially in federations and confederations struggles within unions.
They Represent the members at the various levels of bargaining collectively, signing collective labor instruments applicable, ensure compliance and enforce the rights they are born. Furthermore, the unions Represent employees in the exercise of the rights arising from contracts of employment of persons, when required by partners. Requirement need not be affected as their representatives in the exercise of rights under the collective bargaining agreements and instruments in claiming legal infringements affecting the generality of its partners. Why unions are good
In the United States most of the industry, workers in very hard work under unsafe conditions, low income wages, enjoy little or no legal protection. The success of trade unions for these workers, many improvements, such as a more reasonable working hour, brings it. General Service staff and they help them avoid exploitation by employers. Even in these days, unions have a strong influence. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 1999 members of the Union six hundred seventy-two U.S. dollars in the median (which is an annual 34.94 U.S. dollars); only 516 non-union workers (twenty-six thousand eight hundred thirty-two U.S. dollars) (source) the average weekly.
Why are trade unions in question?
Although I would prefer not to accept it, the union has done many good and helps prevent exploitation of workers, they seem to have helped the exploitation of workers to employers. Perhaps this is a gradual change over time, with the trade unions gradually accumulated more and more power. (Claud, 2005, 688)
Trade unions may be able to prevent a company's competitiveness and prosperity. A company may be in desperate trouble, but the union may be reluctant to bend or compromise, in order to help the company survive. Many employers find that they are inflexible, when they left the union contract compliance.
