In the modern world tourism is one of the largest and dynamically developing sectors of external economic activities. Its high growth and development rates, considerable volumes of foreign currency inflows actively affect various sectors of economy, which positively contributes to the development of own tourist industry. The share of tourism in international gross national income is 6%, in world investments 7%, in world customary expenditures 11%, as well as it accounts for every 16th work place. Tourism is one of world integration processes factor and tourism industry is now becoming a more important sector of economy. The importance of tourism in the world is permanently increasing that consistently increase the influence of tourism on country's economies.

Between the years of 2000 and 2007, the number of tourists arriving in developing nations rose a total 54% to 360 million people. Developing countries do not have a remarkable infrastructure or manufacture growth and the only option they could turn to is tourism. Tourism indeed delivers great benefits to these countries in various aspects such as boosting economy and exchange of cultures, although there are also some pitfalls such as emergence of sex tourism as seen in Thailand. This essay will indicate that tourism is the answer to the problems of the developing world, as it brings significant economical, environmental and cultural benefits.

Firstly, Tourism boosts the economy of developing countries as each tourist brings a certain amount of money, credit or foreign fund to the country. “ Tourism can provide huge economic incentives for development of a country”. The local government uses the money to improve the infrastructure and facilities such as constructing new roads, hospitals and hotels, which provides the travelers with more comfort and increases the reputation of country. Tourism creates more cash flow and therefore more infrastructures will be built up, which correspondingly creates a positive cycle. According to China National Tourism the China tourism revenue in 2007 was 1,095.7 billion Yuan (160.328 billion U.S. dollars) which was up 22.6 percent year-on-year. On the other side of the world, Africa is looking for a new effective way to use tourism revenue. Officials claim that about 5 percent of all tourism revenues goes back to the local communities while tourism encouraged the local communities to get involved in business opportunities. Moreover, tourism business can provide increasing job opportunities in a fastest manner and shortest period which in turn supports development of the developing countries. For example, the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) compiled the Tourism Satellite Accounts for India for the year 2002-03 and indicated that tourism employed 38.8 million persons, directly and indirectly All above data shows that the tourism makes a great contribution to the developing countries' economy.
