Introduction

Overview of Shakespeare's Othello

Othello is supposed to be the most in depth and agonizing of Shakespeare's tragedies. The plummet of a self-righteous, honorable gentle man above that the assassination of a beautiful woman, extremely caring, full of love and passionate woman, and to top it all the hatred of a villain with out any good reasons, all these dramatic scenes and acts have provoked extreme fear and disappointment in audiences over the centuries. Though the celestial magnificence and splendor of some of the most known Shakespeare's  dramas is not present in it, still Othello encompasses a spell that is much more instant and even more in depth than any of his plays.

Othello is also a rare asset from Shakespeare's great tragedies which is beautifully and emotionally set in scenes of private life. The drama spotlights the personal lives of its beautifully thought over characters. Othello amongst them is usually said to be a tragedy character, as his leading role rapidly drowns into a rage of envy that totally ruins his life.

The character Iago, is the rival in the play who shines in his character of villainy. He is among those who have fascinated students since years and also caught a detailed eye of drama critics. The relationship amidst both the most integral characters of the play Othello and Iago is the highlight of Shakespeare's work. With such eminent characters so intimately related to each other, the audiences get confused amongst the central one between them so as to declare which is had greater responsibility for the entire tragic sequence.

Othello, the Moor of Venice as a tragedy

Shakespeare's Othello is one of the most beautiful tragic plays written by Shakespeare. Its storyline is concerned with the marital disloyalty and how a husband takes revenge with his wife. This particular structure of the play, heightens its solemn mood and appearance, and adds depth to the threat given to Desdemona's purity and to the passion and affection she and Othello had amongst each other which was made even more shocking and petifying (Campell, 1973) .

Though being constricted in reach, Othello is extensively seen as the most touching of all of Shakespeare's emotional tragedies.

Othello - a Tragic Hero

Othello is illustrated as a citizen of northern Africa, more precisely called Moor. But the play from any end doesnot discuss about racism. In Shakespeare's era, actors from the black race were not given much roles in any sort of drama or theatres. On the other hand, critics keep on debating if the race was that important for the play or if such a thing was not given a though of and incidentally came up. While some were of the point of the view that the tone of the skin have doesn't not reveal any difference it should be the work that should sell, it has nothing to do with the races.
