The Revolts of Nat Turner and Denmark Vesey

Born in 1800, a black slave from Virginia, Nat Turner slave revolt fomented who was a leading nineteenth century with those of Gabriel Press in 1800 and Denmark Vesey in 1822. He was born into a prosperous small farm in Virginia. His mother came from Africa; it instills a fierce hatred of slavery. His father disappeared when he was a child.
