This article Todd Gitlin, made me think about how things like Disney World is not only an American icon of entertainment, but for the whole world. Gitlin speaks of our film industry and said they were still subject line. If this is true, then why the American Hollywood movies dominate the world? Also, since America was founded by immigrants and is known as a melting pot of cultures, than why is it bad? At least at McDonald's in other countries they change their menu is that the home country food and coke, which country, the language may be (Gitlin 5). I do not think that it was not said that this is a mess, with most countries in the world Americanized. It focuses on the fact that American products are everywhere. While countries may say they do not like America, they continue to drink Coke, eat McDonalds, Gap stores and follow the latest Julia Roberts movie. Pop Culture America affects the whole world, whether they want to admit it or not.
