CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background of this Study
Grampian NHS and Aberdeen City Council have devised an important project targeted at the betterment of vulnerable community members, particularly focusing on the development of young vulnerable girls. This project is based on an immediate need; identified through prioritisation, which are imperative to be fulfilled to ensure protection of the members and especially young girls in the community who are at risk and hence are vulnerable. As indicated by the bodies that have triggered the undertaking of this project, the subject of this research study primarily is the third most populous city of Scotland; Aberdeen, selected in an attempt to scale down the vulnerability to which young girls in the community are subjected to, through providing them with opportunities aligned with their social, emotional and physical development.
