I selected up this publication because my grandfather was a WWII destroyer sailor (DD-727 USS DeHaven II, not the Sterret), and I liked to get a sense of what the war should have been like for him. I believe this publication does an very good job of this and "Cal" Calhoun has to be commended for dragging together the article of this destroyer.
