Thomas Young's epitaph in Westminster Abbey states that he was "...a man alike eminent in almost every department of human learning."

Thomas young was an English physicist and discovered a number of important theories related to the subject of human anatomy and optics. Young started his medical practice in London in 1799, whereas his main interest was in learning about the sensory perception.
