Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make comparison and develop contrast between “My Mistress's Eyes are Nothing Like the Sun” written by William Shakespeare, and “My Last Duchess” by Robert Browning, 'How I Love thee? Let count the ways' written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The paper is basically a resolution of the common theme of these given poems.

My Last Duchess

The poem My Last Duchess has been written by Robert Browning. This poem has firstly been published on 26th November 1842. The venue of the publication of this poem is Dramatic Lyricsunder the title of Italy. This poem has initially been cited as the common example of the dramatic monologue. My Last Duchess is one of the most famous English literature. This poem has been rankes first in the work done by Robert Browning. This poem is actually a depiction of the complex and ambiguis words chosen by Robert browning. The iambic pentameters have been involved in the composition of this poem, and these parameters have been rhymed in pairs with the heroic couplets (Smyth, 174). The second half of the Cinquecento is the place in which the action of the poem is placed. This has been done at the end of Italian Renaissance. Browning has faced the death on the basis of alleged reasons in 1561, and he is considered to be a very young Duchess of Ferrara.

Cora is the story of Cash, a rich American heiress who marries an English duke in the late nineteenth century, the British writer Daisy Goodwin. A historical novel inspired by real characters and recreate Edwardian England, a subject that has led to the successful television series as well known as Downton Abbey (Padgett, 3).

In the novel, Cora Cash, possibly the richest heiress in the United States in the last decade of the nineteenth century, has been educated to believe that money will open all doors. But when her mother takes her to England to secure a husband aristocratic surprised by the cold welcome they dispense. Large houses are very hostile, stubborn with affairs in the upper floor and gossip on the bottom. And when he falls, he realizes that fails to fully understand the game in which they operate.
