'The Yellow Wallpaper' by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Introduction
'The Yellow Wallpaper' was written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman which was published in 1892.The author of this short story tends to be rated as counted amongst the feminist writers of that time. This story tends to reflect the real happenings in the life of the author .It tend to account for the evaluation of the medical treatment which targeted the women suffering from the disease known as neurasthenia. However, this short story tends to stand out on the basis of the feminst nature of the text plus the setting it was portrayed in. The entire story tends to be told form the perspective of the first person. This means that the story revolved around the emotions, feeling, and thoughts of the person who played the character (Charlotte & Maggie, p.212).
The story tends to reflect the perception of the author and the views every other character based on the relationship with the author. In my opinion the writer tends to be in anxiety and have tried his or her best to share it with the reader. However, this paper tends to identify the setting of the story which tends to be late nineteenth century whereas the place of the setting was identified as united States of America and the characters tends to exist in the large summer home or it often gives the feeling of being an asylum. However, the crux of the story tends to take place in a single bedroom in a house or asylum.

Many experts tend to consider the woman of that time as the second class citizens. Due to the fact that in the nineteenth century the marriages used to mark out the territories for the man and the woman. Women were reduced to the domestic functions whereas the men used to take care of the external functions. The setting of the story further reveals that the gender division served as the ill development of the women cognitively.
Since women were restricted to a certain territory therefore the men used to develop a feeling of superiority. This feeling of superiority in the character of the author's husband tends to have a heavy influence of the inferiority of the author itself. It was the setting of the story which forced the author to enter into her own fantasy allowing her to become meaningless in the context of the external world. Since she did not enjoy the control over her life thus she retreated to inferiority. In my opinion the setting of the nineteenth century was such which was craftily depicted by the author in this short story (Judith, p.261).
As highlighted above that the story tends to set up in a room, room in itself tends to ...
