The limitation of geography is shrinking at a rapid pace and the world is becoming a global village or single place. Globalization of market and businesses are increasing occupying the centre of globalization debate. The term globalization came under discussion after the World War II, but its trend has significantly increased since 1980s. In this assignment, we are going to identify the constraints (macro and micro economic factors) that a business faces when it starts to globalize its products and services. More specifically we are going to evaluate the performance of The Wiggles in the region of the Middle East.

Introduction of the Wiggles

The Wiggles was established in 1991 by two highly competitive members of rock band named “The Cockroaches”. In the beginning, Wiggles started to provide entertainment in birthday parties and school functions, but they discovered it soon that children's and adults were highly interested in their performance. The Company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Original members of Wiggles include Murray Cook, Phillip Wilcher, Greg Page, Jeff Fatt and Anthony Field. While, some of these founding members have left the business and now it is operated under the supervision of Lachlan Gillespie, Emma Watkins, Anthony Field, and Simon Pryce (Wiggles).

Innovative and inventive approach to children's entertainment is the driving force behind the success of the Wiggles. Till 2000, the wiggles were focused at selling their commodity to English speaking countries, but in 2001, The Wiggles participated in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, this mega event gave them an exposure of 65 million people. This participation was very helpful in attracting the American market.

The Wiggles is currently operating in the different region of the world, and is running a profitable business throughout. Now, they are planning to expand their business in the markets of the Middle East. The established practices of the markets of the Middle East are entirely different from the traditional markets of the Australia and other Western countries.
