The Upanishads

Upanishad means the inward or mystic teaching. The period Upanishad is drawn from from upa (near), ni (down) and s(h)ad (to sit), i.e., squatted down near. Groups of students sit beside the educator to discover from him the mystery doctrine. In the quietude of the forest hermitages the Upanishad thinkers pondered on the difficulties of deepest concerns and broadcast their information to fit students beside them.
