"The Tell Tale Heart” is a remarkable story written by a tremendous writer, Edgar Allen Poe. I select to analyze this master piece as it seems to me interesting and though provoking. The story has a unique nature with the involvement of impressive sense and narrative perspective of demonstrating a mad man. The continuous flow of events, plot and plainness of story makes it a classic version. The uniqueness of story can be found in the nameless character who talks in a present tense. Though it can be some sort of diary or report, but the author gave the sense of straight conversation with the reader. In the conversation, we find that the narrator admits he is not mad and continuously support his argument by re-telling his story. Later on, the author defines the reason of murder commitment by narrator, which seems rather unskilled. The continuous defending of narrator's claim that he is not mad becomes evident to the audience that it may not be so true.
Discussion
In the entire story, the author goes from every single scene till the events take to the murdering of old man, to which narrator despises. I liked the flow of events in the story as it provides the suspense trend. I found while reading the story that the author gives a calm sense of plainness as there is no alarming situation posed on the narrator. The story becomes more interesting when finally the man gets dead and still narrator could hear his heartbeat. One more time, the reader demonstrates his statement of insanity. During the investigation of police regarding the murder, the narrator confesses the crime in a frustration fit.
I really liked the introduction of the story as it ...
