The novel called “The Submission” was authored by Amy Waldman. Amy Waldman writes with a sort of detachment that is needed for a topic as sensitive as this. The novel is extremely strong in its depiction of no solution to this matter in the real world. The movie called visitor is directed by Thomas MacCarthy and produced by Michael London. “The Visitor” enlightens about how Walter is on the mission to reunite a Muslim family and especially the mother of the Muslim boy since they exist as illegal immigrants and they cant meet each other since he is imprisoned. The two themes are related as both of them deal with Muslim families and how they were treated after the 9/11 incident.

Both the stories carry the theme of families. Families are an important part and they are there for us in everu situation. The importance of families is highlighted in the stories and how they were together even in incidents such as 9/11. The common theme which is apparent in both the movies which can be further related to is the theme of family. Both the novel and the movie show how relationships change and what importance they hold and how the stories revolve around family hood. The whole story revolves around the families who are affected in the incident and suffered from so much difficulty. 9/11 is the major incident of United States which can never be forgotten. Many families who are victim of the 9/11 and they lost their loved ones in that incident. There is the side of the press hounding on the story and wanting to take advantage of the “scoop”. There is the side of the general public in the form of the Gallagher family who lost their son in the attacks. An architectural competition is held in New York for a memorial for 9/11. At the beginning of the book, two designs are still in the running, but a bit of lobbying from the representative of the families of the victims turn the cards in favor of a geometric walled garden.
