Biographical information

Mary Shelley, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, was born on 30 August 1797 in Somers Town, a suburb of London, and died on 1 February 1851 in Belgravia (London), is a woman of letters English, novelist, short-story writer, playwright, essayist, biographer and author of travel books (Oates, 1987).

The "historical" status

Mary Wollstonecraft died of puerperal fever eleven days after the birth of the child, and Godwin is left alone to raise Mary and her half-sister, Fanny Imlay, born out of wedlock from the union of Mary Wollstonecraft with the speculator Gilbert Imlay. One year after the death of his wife, Godwin makes him sincere tribute by publishing memoirs of the author of Vindication of the Rights of Women (1798). These memories will cause a scandal by revealing the connections of Mary Wollstonecraft and her illegitimate child.

Opinion about the role women should play in society during their lifetimes

The young British Mary Shelley, at the age of 18, published anonymously "Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus." The book recounts the terrible story of Victor Frankenstein, fleeing the horrible creature on which he breathed life. She is best known for her novel Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus. Women have to work hard to achieve dignity, respect. She wants woman to experience smartest things in their life. She wants every woman should play the above mentioned things in the society during their lifetime.

The roles that woman play in society today

Marry Shelly wants that women should fight for their rights. She mentions specific geographical locations throughout Europe, she raises ethical questions concerning the synthesis of life, and she writes in the context of popular-contemporary philosophy and the importance of environment vs. experiences.
