What Differentiates The Role Of The Community And Public Health Nurse From Other Health Professional Nurses?

Community and Public Health Nurses take a somewhat different approach from others who are professional Nurses, engaged in health care provision. There areas of practice are very diverse as well as the level of authority they are designated to practice. However, most of the community and public health nurses are allowed to provide medical health care to patients under the guidelines provided by the physicians and doctor (Mark, 2003). Every organization that is engaged in the provisioning of community and public health nursing services has an agenda that states all the aims and objectives of the organization (World Health Organization, 2012). Besides this, an organization's agenda helps a great deal in analyzing the overall performance of the organization as per pre-defined standards (Scannapieco, 2003). These factors are amongst the most significant and crucial objectives that form an organization's agenda.

With professional nurses, patient safety is the parameter that deals with the standard of the safety of the environment provided to the patient during professional nursing (Buchan, 2002). A safe environment is perhaps one of the most crucial elements that indicate the professional nursing productivity (McClure, 2005). It is also referred to as the prevention of harm to patients. The effectiveness of the staff is the aspect that deals with the number of professional nurses along with their level of competency that is deployed in order to provide optimum medical care services to patients (World Health Organization, 2012). Regulatory standards that are set aside by various credible nursing and medical care organizations need to be strictly fulfilled to achieve desirable level of professional nursing productivity.
