Introduction
The performance and achievement in students has been always a great concern for the researchers, education experts, and sociologists, as the students of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. The studies and literature have reported a number of inputs that have impact on the academic achievement in students including the school funding (Altonji & Dunn, 1996), teacher characteristics, class size, and teachers training (Hanushek &Rivkin, 2007; Hanushek, et al 1998), the amount of time required for the homework, and the performance of a student's peers (Hanushek & Rivkin 2006). The factors also important for the student and their family members, includes the parents' income, the student's sex and race (Dahl & Lochner 2005). The study is also considering another input, time spent by the student on homework, which depends upon the amount of homework. The literature on the achievement predicts a positive impact of homework time (Neilson, 2005). The Most empirical researches on this matter have provided the confirmation that time required for the homework has a constructive impacts on the student's academic achievement, while there is no accord of the scope of the impact.
The literature related to this subject will be divided in two parts; the first part is review of the literature from outside the discipline of economics discipline and second part is the review of peer studies and research work applied by the economists. The homework phenomenon of given to students deals with the idea of keeping them in touch with the studies during off time and prevents them from forgetting all that they have learnt. It also aims at increasing the knowledge and information level for the students. All the developed and sophisticated nations pay great attention to the education of their students because they know that educating a child is an investment in future, which is sure to pay off with the passage of time. It is due to the same reason that education is not only highly regarded in developed countries but is also carefully studied and researched in order to come up with the methods of making the education system better and more developed. The progress and development in the education system allows students to polish and furnish their skills in a better manner and thus perform better in future. Better schools with developed education system ensure more qualified individuals in the future society, with more doctors, engineers, qualified journalists and other professionals.Problems Statement
