In the Pura Principle, Junot Diaz conceived a narrator with a large voice that was full of humor. That appears to be a granted for Diaz. I read, though couldn't complete, the Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and the narrator's appear rather similar. They were both geeky, Hispanic teens that don't actually fit in, and state comical things. If you like that, or if you admired his innovative, you'll likely like this short story. Where the article smashed down for me was in the ending. It failed. It dropped flat. It was like the finish of a sit-com, utterly forgettable, and with none impact.
After cancerous infection remedy, and the older male sibling dropping in love with an illicit inhabitant, going out, and being ostracized by his mother, the narrator's male sibling proceeds back dwelling and has been torn off by his wife. In the end, the male sibling penalized the narrator, and the article finishes with him saying, didn't I notify you I was going to rectify you? Didn't I? That's it? Diaz should have finished certain thing better than that, anything. He's a gifted author, but without a fine finish the book reader is left inquiring herself, so what?
