Issues Associated With Mass Arrivals By Sea

The phenomena of sea migration has a prolong history. People have risked their lives, to migrate in terrible travel conditions, for the sake of better living, to exploit suitable jobs , educational career and international protection in case of persecution and other threats to liberty and security. The United Nation has passed the declaration that regarding protection of human rights and the elimination of violence through effective implementation of convention. The term “boat people” is commonly used for people who travel by sea in risking their lives. International Maritime organization has taken measures to secure the search and rescue services, throughout the world. according to UN refugee convention obligate its binding parties to authorized the entry of undocumented migrants and refugees. According to the conventions boat refuges do not break any law, while entering into another country's territory. The illegal migration creates lot of problem for these people to apply for permanent residence. There is limited amount of fund available for accommodation, mainstream emergency shelters. This transient situation often leads to violation for their rights. The lack of information about status based discrimination has led to lack of recognition, response and sensitivity of refugee's realities. The society is less familiar with problem that the migrant people are facing over the number of years. Therefore people are cannot relates and understand the traumas they have been going through, because of their immigration or undocumented status. Lack of recognition force migrant organizations, women's group and trade union for drawing their attention to resolve these issues (UNODC, 2010). There is strict denial for providing basic rights to undocumented people due to mental blockage and approach possessed by societies as a whole. The situation is not favorable equally for government, society, and migrants.
