Introduction

According to the research of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, around 1 American out of 5 suffered from mental illness in the year 2010. Amongst these 20% Americans, there were around 5% of Americans who confronted severe mental illness (Conley, 2012). Women were more likely to experience mental ill health than men. Around 23% of women and 16.9% of men were found to be mentally ill. Mental illness in youngsters of age between 18 and 25 was more than twice than those of 50 years older individuals. In the year 2011, there were approximately 11.4 million adults who suffered from critical and dangerous mental illness in America (Conley, 2012). About 8.7 million of adults thought about committing suicide. Among these 8.7 million adults, there are 2 million of adults who made plans to commit suicide and there were around 1 million of adults who ultimately committed suicide (Conley, 2012). According to the research, there are only 60% of people in America who get treatment of mental illness each year.

Discussion

Target audience

The purpose of designing the mental health illness is to promote and develop behavioral health incorporation. Purpose of mental health illness is also to include beneficial strategies in the public education labors (Anonymous, 2013). Mental health campaign will be helpful in improving the recovery of mental illness in individuals living in America. Target audience include professionals of mental health, human resource and employee assistance professionals, professionals of workplace wellness, prevention specialists, community advocates and promoters, case managers, consumers of health care, family members of healthcare consumers and professionals who participate in healthcare and social services and public policy (Anonymous, 2013).
