Introduction

Tennessee State is situated along the southeastern region of USA, and is known as thirty-six mainly widespread and heavily populated among the other states of the country. Geographic characteristic of this state is much diversified as its border is connected to other major states of the country (State of Tennessee, 2012). Government is aware of its state importance and value in economic, political, and social aspect of USA and thus is constantly under pressure of giving performance in accordance with the expectation of masses.

The current governor Bill Haslam was elected in year 2010 is the 49th governor of the state and will hold the office for four years as per the standard practices, moreover, he could only be appointed twice for this post. The governor of the states is the only official out of the cabined that is selected from across the state, and speaker of the state has to look after the functions of lieutenant governor as this post is excluded from the cabinet of the state. General assembly, state legislature of the state comprises of thirty-three members, whereas, the total representatives of house are ninety-nine.

According to standard practice, a senator can hold the office for four years, whereas the house members can hold the office for two years and after the completion of their term, new members would be elected in accordance with the procedures as defined in the legal structure of the state (State of Tennessee, 2013). On the other hand, several rules and regulation adopted by state is unique and not found in any other state of the country, and despite of the changes this state has so far able to complete is major responsibility in effective manner.

Mission of the government

The primary mission of state government is to form a just, innovative and improve the living standard of public. In the regime of democracy where everything is, administer by rule of law it is imperative for the public and industries of the state to live and work in free and fair environment with equal opportunity of growth. In order to accomplish this mission state government looks up to various options for moving forward and taking appropriate action where required(State of Tennessee, 2013). The government completes his entire task within the best interest of public, with honesty and professionalism.

The primary goals of the state government are stated as follows

To ensure establishment and implementation of law of justice across the state

To ensure domestic harmony across the state

To promote general welfare for citizens across the state

To ensure right of freedom, equality, integrity for every citizen of the state
