The Northwest Rebellion of 1885

The authors of all three books have one thing in common all three books are written in historical context. All books have many similarities and differences between them. All books are written in historical perspective and on subject of Métis uprising. The uprising of Métis gave opportunity to Manitoba to grow in the Canadian world. All books are very interesting and now we will briefly discuss each book in order to understand it more.

In the first book the author has written in a very clear and strong method and discussed the role of Louis riel in detail. He author has described the dangers encountered by the Louis by backing it up with facts and figures. The reader will surely enjoy the in-depth study of the book. It is beautifully written but as it lacks footnotes so the reader may find it difficult to understand few words. The lack of footnotes clearly shows that the author has a broader audience for his book.

The book starts with the background which sets the flow for the rest of the book. It gives a distinct picture as to who is the main character and the main groups of the book. It tells the reader a brief idea about the red river. The colony near red river was a very small community with limited but high profile people. The author has given a basic idea of class differences which existed at that time. In order to make the reader understand the author has given character a distinct name so that they may be recognized.
