The Lady with the Dog is a story created by Anton Chekhov, first published in December 1899. It tells the adulterous affair between a Russian banker and a woman whom he met in Yalta. The story divides into four parts: the first describes the initial meeting in Yalta; the second relates to the consummation of the affair, the third banker talks about the return of his visit to Moscow and the people of the woman, finally the fourth describes the visit of women to Moscow (Pitcher, 1979).
