The Impact of Social Demographics on Criminal Justice
Abstract
Social demographics have been found to be good predictors of crime, criminal justice, and policymaking in the United States. It was found that social demographics were also relevant in the policymaking processes in the US system of criminal justice as these had bearing on both internal and external environmental factors of the policymaking scenario. It was also found that black Americans had a disproportionate share in the US system of criminal justice through their presence in the prisons, jails, and other correctional facilities. Although there are allegations of the police and the system of criminal justice's discrimination against the black Americans, still it is clear that the black Americans are more likely to commit crimes. Hence, they were found with drugs possessions in Baltimore and they are also likely to be sex offenders. Yet, it is argued that black Americans are also discriminated against in the criminal justice through racial discrimination and through their inability to get better defense. Hence, they are more likely to get the long criminal sentences through US courts. In contrast, the sociological theories of criminal behavior suggest that crimes are motivated by social structures, social processes, and developmental processes. Accordingly, the people were more likely to commit crimes. It was also found that criminal behaviors were mostly learned in adolescence and corresponding prevention was possible through early intervention. It was also observed that marriage, employment, and military service were good stimuli to prevent the continuation of all types of criminal behavior. Hence, the US system of criminal justice can be well understood through analyzing various social demographic factors, such as race, class, and socioeconomic status.Introduction

These criminals range from those who engage in minor crimes to major offenses, like killing and murder. Accordingly, there is a set system of criminal justice in place in all countries that deals with all types of criminals even if they are women or children. The system of criminal justice that deals with the ...
