The Impact of Nursing Shortage on the Health Care Industry
The Impact of Nursing Shortage on the Health Care Industry
Introduction
Health is the basic right and necessity for everyone living in a society. However, the fact that the health care industry itself is currently dealing with a number of challenges clearly explains why many individuals are left deprived of some of the basic health facilities or attention. Let alone in America, there are various obstacles in the development of an effective and accessible health care system. These obstacles may include an increase in overall inflation, lack of experienced doctors, and lack of training facilities for the healthcare individuals and many others. However, the factor that most upsets the operation of the health care industry is the shortage of nurses.
Problem Statement
The shortage of nurses has a huge negative impact on the health care industry. The obvious lack of supply of nurses, as opposed to the demand, importing nurses to meet the demand, and the extra burden on the doctors in various medical facilities are the indicating factors that reflect the impact of the nurse-shortage problem.
Research Question
Is the nursing shortage creating an impact on the health care industry?
Hypothesis
Ho: There is no impact of the nursing shortage on the health care industry?
H1: There is an impact of the nursing shortage on the health care industry?
Research Rationale
The nursing shortage is creating an impact on the health care industry and is growing in the developed world. In the organizational context, it is important to determine the issues of the nursing shortage. It is necessary for institutions to find solutions for retaining, recruiting and satisfying nursing jobs (Keenan & Kennedy, 2003).
Role and Bias of Researcher
The role of the researcher will be to conduct research on an equitable basis, excluding the gender discrimination and related factors. Some researches often include omission or inclusive bias for their convenience and researchers will ensure to eliminate these factors. There will not be any procedural bias in which the respondents are imposed to respond quickly. The quantitative data gathering method is a very crucial factor as any error occurring in it leads to measurement bias. The questionnaire will be designed in a pattern, and conducted in a setting where the respondents would feel free to share their point of view, eliminating response bias.
Sampling Techniques
A sampling technique is the best method to investigate a sample out of the whole population. The data is gathered from small units that cover the requirements of research, and present them as a complete picture. There are various sampling techniques for this purpose, but this research is being conducted on two sampling techniques: simple random sampling and stratified random sampling (Barreiro & Albandoz, 2005). The investigation will be concluded by regression analysis, a statistical tool that helps in creating a cause an effect relation.
